Skillz

We were in a hurry this morning. So what else is new. But we were really really in a hurry this morning so I put Adora's clothes on the chair and asked her is she thought she could do it by herself. Oh yes! was the reply. I was fairly confident that she could do it. She's taken off and put on various garments many times, I'd just never left her in charge of dressing herself. A few minutes later she walked out of her room. Very calm (she usually bounds about), but standing a little straighter than normal, with her chin a little higher than usual as well. Slight smile, deep look, she stopped in front of me. "See, Mommy"

It's amazing how it was nothing to me that I knew she could do it when I asked her. But the feeling in my chest when I saw on her face that SHE knew she could do it was like nothing else I've ever experienced. I'm looking forward to a lifetime of this.
